about

Our preschool class had been corresponding with Billie Allen for a year or two when they wrote this song. Billie is an artist and children's book writer, currently imprisoned on Indiana’s Terre Haute Federal Death Row for a robbery-murder that he has consistently maintained he did not commit. Billie has been the property of the the Federal Government for over 18 years.

The owtunes pre-K collective wanted to write Billie a song. This is the song. It is a freedom song.

Thank you to Brian Lindsay for writing the music!

lyrics

We Love You, Billie
Billie, what’s your tune?
Billie, go swimming!

Is there water always open,
But not forever?
Do they close it?

Billie, we love you.
Billie is frozen.
Bill is under an avalanche.

Watch out, Billie!
There’s a polar bear to save you!

Billie, put your gloves on
Cuz it’s cold.

Billie!

Billie, we love you.
Billie is frozen.
Bill is under an avalanche.

Billie has an ice-melter
And he gets out of the ice.
The ice is these words.

Billie, we love you.

Billie, we love you.
Billie is frozen.
Bill is under an avalanche.

Run, Billie, out of the North Pole
Back to your house.

Billie, go to the grocery store.
Stay there to be safe.
Billie likes apples.

I’m free!
I’m free!
I’m unfrozen!
